Overview

The gallery is where the members upload their photographs.

Viewing credits

Celection uses a system of credits to allow you to view the uploaded photographs.  To view a photo costs you one for each photo you view. The number of credits you have is reset every 24 hours. Credits won't be deducted if you've already seen that photo in the last 24 hours, if it's your own photo or it's a photo that's been entered into one of your challenges.
Guests are given 25 credits per day.
Members are given 99 credits per day.
Members with an enhanced or gold account have unlimited credits.

Searching

The search form is at the top of the gallery. It gives you the chance to narrow down the type of photos that get displayed.

To reset your search, view some quick links to saved searches (members only) or to view a tag cloud of links for the most popular tags, click the searches link in the menu.

In the search form you can specify tags to search for, or search the photos' titles and descriptions for specific text. You may also select to search photos from the archived or recent entries.
The photos are uploaded into different categories that you can filter. The categories are:

Men: Photos of one or more man
Mixed: Photos of both men and women
Women: Photos of one or more woman
Tributes: Photos that include another member's photo (with their permission)

Recent vs. archived

The gallery is divided into recent photos and archived photos. Archived photos are those posted more than 14 days ago. This allows you to search amongst the recent posts more easily. The default is to search just the recent photos.

Gallery entry information

Under each entry's thumbnail you'll find information detailing the photo's title, the member that uploaded the the photo, the category, when it was posted and how many comments it has.

Viewing a gallery entry

Click on an entry's thumbnail to view the full size photo. The entry page will show more information on the photo, comments by other members and display what actions you can take (such as adding the photo to your favourites with the 'I like this photo' option, tagging the photo, adding a comment, sending a message to the member etc.).
Under the photo are thumbnails to take you to the member's next and previous photos (if any).

Popular

Click Popular in the menu to see the most popular photos out of the recent entries. Popularity is worked out from how many people have added a photo to their favourites by using the 'I like this photo!' option.

Reporting entries that you have a problem with

If you encounter a photograph that you feel infringes on copyright or breaks the rules for uploading in some other way, you can report the photo by using the drop-down box on the entry page below the photo and clicking 'report'. Depending on the reason you selected, you may need to provide additional notes. The report will be sent to the site moderators for review.

The rules for uploading are:

  • The person or people featured in the photograph or video must be 18 (or the legal age of consent in the locality from which you are uploading the photograph or video) or over.
  • Full permission to upload the photograph or video must be granted from the person (or people) in the photograph or video.
  • The photograph or video must not be copyrighted material, such as (but not limited to) photographs or videos taken from other websites, or scanned from publications.
  • The people in the photograph or video must not be engaged in any illegal activities, sexual or otherwise.
  • The image should not contain any advertising, email addresses or URLs.
  • The photograph or video should be relevant to the website.
  • The photograph or video should not be a duplicate (or very similar) to a photograph or video you've already posted.
  • The photograph or video should be of good enough quality so that it's possible to make out what it's of, and must be big enough not to be obscured by the site logo.
